Use of voice in patent drating and translation, active or passive?
Here are some tips
When drafting or translating a patent application, you may be confused about the use of active voice or passive voice of an process.
For example, when you start a sentence with an active voice, usually in a "doing sth" form, then you may be confused, should I always use the active form to describe the steps of operation? If so, the languge may become a little akward or wierd.
Can I use a passive voice following the active voice at the beginning of the sentence?
We have been taught to use an active voice when drafting a method claim.
